Final episode of Caprica
Dec 1 2010, 7:33 PM EST
Hey guys, not sure if you got to see it yet, but the last ep was last night. All I can say is WOW..... what a finale to the season and series. The best part is the last few minutes of the ep....we get to see a lot of cool stuff and some hints towards the future. If only they had done more of this in earlier eps.....the show might have seen a 2nd season. This ep had some very cool twists and surprises. I won't say much more....don't want to spoil things for anyone that has not seen it yet 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Great episode/finale (A-/B+). Seasons 2 (Co-humanity) & 3 (Cyclons War on Humanity) are very well warranted. I'll wait until more fans have seen the last episodes before critiquing and to get into details...to avoid spoiling.Overall, I really enjoy watching Caprica repeatedly. After all, it's the transition between present day man and BSG 1978/89 & 2003. Great work on all three shows to all involved. I simply don't understand why a some BSG fans do not like Caprica; it's a great show in my opinion. To each their own. Bring back Caprica!!!!!!! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think Caprica was a lot more cerebral than BSG.... and so it had less action. Many, including me, were hoping for more Cylon related action. Unfortunately the Cylons came too late in the season to help save the show from cancellation. I think the build up to the season ender was a bit slow....because of that many lost interest. I stayed with the show from day one and enjoyed all eps. The season/ series ender tied up a lot of loose ends, but also gave us some glimpses into the future. A second season would have probably had more action and been more appealing to a broader audience. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I agree Moe. I want to see what happens between now and BSG 2003. There's a lot to cover. I cannot see Sister Clarice fueling a war by herself [and her on going rants] or with the STO. There has to be a few triggers. Per the opening scene of Ep 1, there are 58 years between the beginning of the Caprica and BSG story lines. Which makes sense as per what we see in a key character. The writers/producers take this in to consideration as we are introduced to young William Adama (sorry for a tiny spoiler fellow fans) in Caprica and seeing Commander Adama in BSG. He looks like he is in his late 50s/early 60s in the portraited character. The cerebral aspects of Caprica need to remain in tact in follow on seasons if it happens. Yet, there needs to be more action in flow-on seasons and naturally a lot of scenes that piece the story-line all together...an additional 2+ seasons ideally to balance rushing or stagnancy. I don't think you could do the 55+ year time reference in a fewer than 20-25 episodes. But we have to keep in mind the cyclons disappear for 40+ years (...that could be an entire different show telling that story...) in the BSG story-line so really I'm tabling about 15 years of the Caprica story-line. Anyway...more later. Do you find this valuable? |

yeah...they really threw out the hint that the little boy with blue eyes was William....named after his dead brother.I agree the show was smart...but more action like in the last ep is required. I thought it interesting that Zoe became the first skin job.....but is she a perfect copy? In BSG there was an ep showing a young Adama stumbling across a Cylon lab with human test subjects.....similar to the scen in T4 when John Connor finds people in cages underground.......Zoe may have been the first skin job but it might have been a synthetic flesh and not as real as later models we see infiltrating into society. At least one more season was needed to show the Cylons being treated like crap and then their eventual rebellion against humanity...maybe led by Clarice...or how about Lacy??( seems we caught a glimpse of what she was to become) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. hello (SPOILER ALERT!),I realize there is quite some time between the end of the Caprica era and the start of the BSG era; but I think there are quite some inconsistencies. First of all, wasn't it the cylons themselves who invented the whole human cylons? I thought they haf to leave after the first cylon war, were able to generate skinjob cylons and infiltrated with them. If I remember correctly, there was no knowledge of human cylons aboard of BSG. On the contrary, Baltar had to create a test to check who was a cylon and who wasn't. I also find the whole 'Clarice as a priest' thing kind of strange. Didn't the STO just try to blow up a stadium? And isn't Clarice the head of the STO? I would think by then Clarice is locked up in prison for life. Zoe breaks Clarice "virtual paradise", yet she attends Clarice church service? Clarice also goes back to the STO boot camp, where Lucy is now in charge. Does that really makes sense as well? Clarice must have known that the previous STO boot camp leaders got shot. She's just going there unanounced to find Lucy to be the new head-sister? it just doesn't add up. Anyway, I can't wait until BQG Blood and Chrome comes out, ''cause they'll have a lot of explaining to do :-) too bad Carpica got cancelled, they could have gone so many ways with it Do you find this valuable? |

Zoe may not be a real skin job, she just might be synthetic. It took the cylons a further 40 or so years to make the skin jobs perfect.I find it interesting that Cylons were trying to become the perfect human and humans were trying to live forever by downloading themselves into a cyber world. Clarice is not the head of STO anymore...IMO...I think she just split off and ended up being a voice for the cylons. Lacy becomes the leader of the one God religion...and Clarice visits her ( in a short clip they show near the end of the episode) So It seems Clarice is just a messenger of God for Lacy. Lacy might be the one that unleashes the Cylons on the humans....she does have a way of controlling them . I think Zoe didn't want a whole bunch of religious martyrs in her VR, so she destroyed it. She may have contacted Lacy or visa versa...and Clarice was appointed to help preach to the cylons. I think Clarice already knew Lacy was not the head Mother of the religion....she came to kiss Lacy's butt and not get killed off. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Finally finished caprica.I lost track of it on tv here (australia). I wonder whether in fact Clarice's sermons took place in V world. The cylons may not aspire to be human yet. So have no reason to look different in V world. Anyway, that's one of the possibilities I got from it. Clarice was no longer STO so she went out on her own. Found new followers. We may never know, so it's all up to personal interpretation. Which is what I liked so much about this show and BSG for that matter. Such a pity it didn't last 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "Finally finished caprica.IMO...Sister Clarice was doing her preaching in V world. I'm pretty sure Clarice is behind her own agenda...esp since she was kicked out of STO. Lacy was a surprise to me...as in becoming the new spiritual leader....backed by Cylons. What will be interesting is the new BSG prequel...Blood and Chrome....which way will they go with that series? I'm thinking more action !! Do you find this valuable? |

"Although I do like the fact that this forum exists. For however long it lasts. It fell upon deaf ears. If SPACE channel had the cash from its parent network, we would have seen more eps. SyFy had primary control and cash for the show...so it was them holding the strings and deciding to cut the season down and then finally killing off the show. Caprica was doing well in Canada on the SPACE channel....the other bonus for it to continue , would have been that it was also filmed in Canada in BC. SyFy has done the same with Stargate Universe....and huge show up here, but now cancelled after 2 seasons. SyFy seems too interested in showing Ghosthunters and WWE Wrestling, and not actual Science Fiction shows.....sheeesh <<Facepalm>> 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

What?Syfy showing WWE. How does that even fit?? I was going to say though. It's a pity more networks don't look at international syndication as a reason to keep a show going. Perhaps they don't make much money from that. In the past it's worked with the BBC. Many shows have been revived because of the international market. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I just want to say Caprica, from start to finish, is one of the finest TV shows I've seen in a long while. Thought provoking, emotional, a little too violent, but otherwise incredibly intelligent. What happened to Season II? Did the powers-that-be actually cut this show? Thanks! ( i found the series smart, and engrossing) We do have "Blood and Chrome" to look forward to, if they finally decide to show it. there has been rumors of it just being a web series, instead of a TV series. 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
