| Daniel Graystone is one of Caprica's most successful computer engineers, specializing in cybernetics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. His work has influenced much of Caprica's most advanced technology, making him a wealthy and powerful man. Graystone's greatest rival is the Taruon industrialist Tomas Vergis. Amanda Graystone is a noted surgeon on Caprica. She is a less indulgent parent than her husband, which has led to a strained relationship with her daughter, Zoe. Zoe Graystone inherited her father's technological brilliance and her mother's stubbornness. She has already made considerable technological advances on her own, using her personal thought patterns and her father's technology to create a virtual doppelganger of herself.
